SIEMENS SOLAR
EARTHSAFE 10 SYSTEMS RECEIVE UL LISTING
Camarillo, Calif., June 15th,
2000 Siemens Solar, one of the worlds leading manufacturers of solar
photovoltaic (PV) cells and modules, announced that Siemens Solar earthsafeTM 10
Systems are now listed by Underwriters Laboratories (UL).
This is another first for Siemens Solar and
the PV industry. Siemens Solar leads the PV industry as the only
manufacturer to have UL listed residential solar power systems. Stated Chet Farris, VP and
COO, "This is very good news for consumers as well as Siemens Solar. A safe design,
integration of components and an informative installation guide contribute to the system
listing. The UL listing is a validation of the high level of quality, engineering and
design of earthsafeTM systems. The listing results in a unique package that has
no competition."
earthsafe kits were developed by
Siemens Solar in an important effort to simplify the design and installation of solar
energy systems. earthsafeä kits can be installed by a qualified electrical contractor and
provide a complete solution for the homeowner. The homeowner is able to support American
and worldwide efforts to reduce global warming, by replacing the burning of fossil fuels
with solar electricity for a portion or all of their power. An added benefit is the
reduction in the homeowner's monthly electric bill.
earthsafe kits from Siemens Solar are
a part of a global corporate commitment: A basic tenet of the company's mission is to be
"dedicated to reducing the impact on the environment to a sustainable level."
